CEO Chang-Don An said “Dispatch company board member to lecture of university, Recruit the best student” “We open GSI major in the BUCHEON University and hire the best students every year” GS Instrument, telecommunication equipment manufacturer, is cooperated with the BUCHEON University and open GSI major, which will be managed on 2nd semester.
Samsung Electronics could open Cell Phone major in the SUNGKYUNKWAN University on 2007, but, it is rare case that small and medium enterprise name be used for major title.
CEO Chang-Don An made an agreement with the BUCHEON University on afternoon of 18th, he said “This is win-win project”. Because, company should decrease cost of education and university should increase the employment rate of university graduates.
To achieve this, GSI plan to open Mobile Communication major with 8 subjects and 24 numbers of credits in the BUCHEON University and dispatch board members of company with part time lecture or adjunct professor.
Major participants are total 20 persons among quarter of mobile communication freshmen. The BUCHEON University is going to select as the final choice who apply this major for freshmen.
The BUCHEON University Mobile Communication Major consider a two-year diploma course that students is take GSI major during 3 semesters among 4 semesters.
CEO Chang-Don An explained “we hire more than 5 students with superior grades annually and we made solid curriculum for students who is immediately working in company after graduate”
During 3 semesters students should learn science and engineering education such as Wireless Communication Equipment Theory, Telecommunication Test & Measuring Instrument Development Skill as well as Management Production, Quality Control, Purchasing and Material, Financial.
Finishing this course a university graduate should have high competitive power than other graduates even thought they could not join GSI.
CEO Mr. An said “we are going to establish laboratory in the BUCHEON University, it provide same industrial environment to students and invest Repeater and Test & Measuring Instrument for installing these equipment in laboratory together with BUCHEON University”
Asked the details of opened major, CEO Mr. An said “we were proposed to open GSI major to the BUCHON University in the nearby company and President Mr. Hyeun-Jic Cha was pleasure to accept our proposal” and “GSI curriculum contributed to reduce problem of unemployment among young people as well as problem of shortage of man power in the industry”
GSI was established with name of Hung Chang in 1972 and have been exporting around 100 kinds of Test & Measuring Instrument and Repeaters to more than 128 countries in the world. GSI is currently manufacturing Repeaters, Test & Measuring Instrument, Amplifier, RF Filter.
