  GS Instruments, Award winner of Ministry of Knowledge Economy New Tech Award   08-12-22

On December 22nd, in ¡°2008 New tech Award,¡± sponsored by Knowledge Economy and managed by Korea Industrial Technology Foundation, GS Instruments which is a mobile telecommunications instrument parts company was rewarded with Ministry of Knowledge Economy award for self-development of network analyzer technology.
New tech Award, being one of the most authoritative technology-related award that selects a technology or product that did the most to demonstrating Korea as one of the technological superpowers by contributing the most to Korea¡¯s industrial technology development and the country¡¯s economy through superior technological development, companies from each industrial sectors participated in the competition with vigor.
GS Instruments was the first in the country to domesticate the network analyzer, a tele-communicative NETWORK ANALYZER. According to the participating staff members, they gave high recognition to two reasons; one, the improvement of Korean economy¡¯s revenue by blockading the excess spending of foreign currency and acquiring foreign currency with the exported product, and two, the raising of national income by creating over 5000 jobs both directly and indirectly.
GSI was founded in 1972 starting as the first in company the country to develop measuring instruments. In June of this year, GSI had become a role model for success in co-operated sales development between large and medium enterprises by introducing the network analyzer (model name: A333) collaboratively with SKT in June.
This network analyzer is used to develop and produce all products with an Input/Output terminal. Compared to foreign equipment, its performance is equal or greater for a reduced weight, 40%, at a reduced cost, 30%. In addition to that, since it¡¯s produced domestically, repair services are finished within a week.
According to CEO An Chang-Don, ¡°GSI will domesticate the foreign enterprise-dominated measuring instrument market and expand the market share of the world¡¯s telecommunication measuring instrument to become a globalized general telecommunication firm. GSI is looking forward to having a measuring instrument related sales profit of over 20 billion for year 2009 and 10-year accumulative amount of 1.5 billion dollars of alternative income effect until year 2018.
